  • Brown Bear on Kenai Peninsula this coming regulatory season ??

    So was the Registration Brown Bear hunt on the majestic kenai peninsula a one time event........??? Or will there be a registration Brown Bear hunt for the 2014/2015 regulatory season........???

      If you are that anxious to get an answer, you could have easily called ADF&G directly and gotten it long before someone will post what might be 3rd hand rumors on here.

        Nonresident hunters must be accompanied by a guide, see page 10.

        24-28 for additional bear hunting information.
        Evidence of sex must remain naturally attached to the hide.

        every regulatory year by permit available online at http:// hunt.alaska.gov or in person in Anchorage, Homer, Palmer, and Soldotna beginning Aug 14

          That is what I would do................if I have a burning desire to hear, "You need to talk to (Insert name) and he/she is out of the office till July 7'th, can I take your number and have them get back to you.......sometime in the next month or two".....???

            The quota is 70 for the calendar year. I think there were 51 or 52 taken. So the fall hunt will be for the balance.

                But if I understand correctly, that if they hit that "magic" number of 17 sows, it will close the season as well...???
                Sheep hunting...... the pain goes away, but the stupidity remains...!!!

                  The sow quota is for adult breeding age sows, don't recall if that's the exact number. I've heard rumor the fall season may be canceled in some areas, i'll post an update when I have a better idea of what's going on.
