Nice Hunt.......congratulations. And I especially liked that there was no mention of the bears size. It was the hunt and the tracking that is important, not the size.
ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, balls'to the wall, the pedal floored, full throttle, it is a delightful place, to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

Fantastic hunt and better yet the writeup. good job HORSE, you might turn out to be called "the Jack O'Connor of the southeast " with your hunt description.

Great story and great read, congratulations! Strangely, I never have; and still don't have an aspiration to hunt and kill a bear. I'll stick with blacktails and mountain goats.

                          By your own admission:
"Many times Iíve sought out these large, mature Brown bears roaming these wild places. This spring was to be such a time."

And since many others have posted size figures, and ADF&G takes skull measurements..................would be interested in the skull and hide square.

Good story. Good job on sticking with it. Interested in the dog. A springer? Did you train him to follow bears?
                          I can't help being a lazy, dumb, weekend warrior.......I have a JOB!
                          I have less friends now!!
