5 years later and I finally called fish and game to get the age on this bear. He was 16 years old.

It is. I have 2 cabins there, and my son bought my original one. My favorite thing to do there is ride the snow machines from the cabin, East to Swanson River and then north all over the upper end of the Refuge.

I have trail timer cameras up at my remote cabin in 15A. All I get is pics of Brown Bears, with the exception of ONE black bear in 3 years of having the cameras up. I have pics of 2 Brownies fighting over a winter killed moose carcass. Lots of pics with 2 or 3 adult Brownies in the same frame, different years.

Here is the trail cam picture of a boar with a sow wearing a collar from 2013. I'm pretty confident those are the same two bears from my hunt...

Congrats on a really nice bear way to get it done with archery equipment that had to get the adrenaline going.

I had the bear scored with Pope & Young. The official measurement after the 60 day drying period was 26-6/16. They told me ranks #34. I haven't checked with Fish and Game on the age yet. They probably don't have it done yet. The picture below is this bear's skull with a skull from a 5'6" black bear in his mouth.

    ckrietel,

When you call F&G you need the number from the sealing tag.

Do i just need to give them the number on my brown bear locking tag?
