  • Spring Bear ...and Wolf

A few friends of mine made a trip for spring black bear in SE Alaska. My friend Tim got a nice boar (squared right at 6 ft) on the 5th day. I took a wolf on day 2, was hunting an open drainage to the sea and called this female in from 1,000 yards with a predator call. It was amazing to see how the wolf worked the terrain and came in from a down wind position. Shot taken at 150 yards with a 300WSM. Both animals in prime condition. Several other bears taken on the trip.

              Very Cool Txhorn,

Some Great Hunting that musta been,
So, did the Wolf pick up on you, before you shot?
was he moving, or stopping, sniffing,...
Can you tell, I'm prying for more story ?
My four yr old wants to know, "where your shot hit him,"....Loves the Pic also

That sounds pretty challenging taking a savvy Wolf, working the wind like that,

Congrats for sure, those are some trophies, thanks for posting
