    First bear

Got my first black bear out of Homer over Memorial Day weekend. Saw several bears over the weekend, but this was the first bear close enough to the beach to warrant going after. It was a good stalk - left the big boat and hit the beach in the zodiak. Climbed up through the rocks till we hit the grass. Crawled up to a big clump and waited for a good shot. Not a huge bear - but a nice 5-foot boar with beautiful thick coat. I couldn't be happier.

Took my best friend Gregg and his Father on their first bear hunt. They both took nice boars. 18 2/16ths and 18 12/16ths. Both taken from PWS.

Member ks2's boy got his first black bear. 'Bout a 5 1/2 footer. Hopefully we'll get video up soon. One shot, he was very excited and I was glad I could see it all go down! As you can see in the first picture, there were a few bugs around, so when this guy came in after about 10 minutes, we were glad to see he was a shooter!

                            April 09 Bear & Wolf

Black Bear and Wolf hunt with Baranof Expeditions.
Had great experience of calling in a pack of 10-15 wolves and taking 3. Also a 7' Black Bear.

                                First Black Bear!

Shot this Black Bear hunting with a few buddies of mine near Seward! The hide was absolutely perfect and measured 74", and his skull measured 17 9/16". Had a blast doing it, and wish I was going to be around next year to do it again.
