  • A first bear for my better half!

My wife took her first bear last Wednesday. This is the first bear harvested over this particular bait in three years! We hunted from a ground blind for three nights before he showed himself during shooting hours! Can't explain how excited I was for her! [emoji199]

Thanks guys, I'll pass the congrats on to her. Definitely, our bears have different hair, the color bears always seem to be a little longer and more shaggy than the black bears we have here(very few)

Beautiful Bear!! Congratulations!! I had to do a double take, man the coloring looks a lot like our brown bears up here, but to look at the head and ears it's obviously an awesome faze blackie.

Thanks mekaniks, definitely would have to look twice or three times before taking him, if he was in Brown bear country!

Lol, the first bear I ever saw , also while elk hunting was a big mature black boar with a big white v on his chest! Also had no tag and watched as my buddy shot 5 shots at him from 200yds. Missed him clean every shot , til the bear got tired of sitting on his haunches, turned and slowly walked into the trees
