I wish I had a picture as it would make my question a little clearer, but here it goes. Came accross some scat. Not sure what it was, but a pile of quater/nickle sized round/black scat almost like about two dozen or more pellets . Looked nothing like moose. Buddy thought it was bear im not so certain, although dont have any good idea of what early season bear poop looks like. Anyone have any good pictures to help me idetnify what this was. Could not identify anything in it, but black poop. Again no picture, I know its almost impossible to tell me anything without it, but if you got a picture of anything similar with identification that would help.

Black bear Scat

I found a pile back of my house and thought for sure it was bear scat because it didn't resemble the little golden nuggets I was used to seeing. It looked human-like but much bigger. After I poked it with a stick it was clear it was a spring moose poo.... smooth green paste. They change their diet when the green stuff comes out and the poops are looser.
The deciding factor on this pile, I think, would be what the critter has been eating and what the pile looks like from the inside
