  • Upcoming Veteran Hunts

I want to take this time to thank everyone, who has come on board this year to help out with the Veteran Hunts. People from all over Alaska are donating their time, boats, hunting equipment and needless to say money to help out where they can. It's a true honor to be a part of this rehabilitation process for the Veterans. This year there are 3 different organization, setting up 30 bait stations for 43 Wounded Heroes, in Alaska. If you'd like to get involved, please check out our homepage, where you'll find links to each of the 3 organization.

I belong to the Mat-Su College veterans club and im donating both of my baits for a few of the vets to hunt off of. I think its the least we can do. I'm in the process of enlisting in the Marine Corps and im just glad to be able to help the veterans who have already done their service. More baiters need to be apart of this.

      Jess,

Don't think they will be hunting in Tok. I think the baits will be in the Glennallen area. I certainly wish the best to the vets that are coming up and hunting!

        northway,
The organization is based out of Tok and ran by Alaskans. Sorry for the miscommunication.

        caseymarre,
I agree. I think its a great experience for both the hunter and Veteran. We will be opening our station up to a couple Warriors in Transition (once we get our station out) this season. Best of Luck with your enlistment.

Cant decide if that was a compliment or a insult, anyway you go caseymarre just do what YOU feel is best, Do not hold anything back and you wont have regrets. Don't do what everyone else tells you is Bad***** because they wont be doing the job you will. Every vet will tell you the same thing we made the choices and do not regret a thing. Good luck.

                Archer,
I felt the same way.. So I left it alone. I myself am Retired Air Force. Everyone wants different things. So go with what you feel. I have family that are Army and Navy. And in August I fly south to pin on my Nephews Lt Bars, at his request.

We have picked up 4 Hero hunters last night and they are sitting in the stands right now, we have multiple bears hitting multiple baits and we have 3 confirmed brown bear hunters for this years "Breaking Beariers" hunt. To see progression updates, please see: http://www.facebook.com/HAVE.Alaska

We will have 10 hunters, 1 caregiver and 2 service animals flying up to Alaska.

These hunts were made possible by Jess.. She and Steve have been soo incredibly supportive of our Program. Thank You Jess !! I will try and get pictures as soon as possible, but cant load from new iphone...not technically fluent yet..
