When the ice recedes off our Alaskan lakes (enough to cast out) what is your lure, bait, fly of choice for big bows cruising the shallows? When I lived in Colorado, we fished at a place called Eleven Mile Resevoir which is north of Colorado Springs. The go-to bait was called a strawberry shortcake. A single small white marshmello and single red samlon egg on a # 6 bait hook. It absolutely killed em! Just curious to know what you've found to be the "go-to" up here?
