          late April

In the early 80's the wife and I used to fish for them in mid to late April out of a 18' Zodiac. What was wrong with us? Now we wait untill late May and I like to sit in a heated cabin and stare at the rod tip unless I'm jigging.

            March 13

Off Deep Creek in 20ft of water, just outside the breakers. It was 120lbs and took two baits - we thought it was a double hook-up. This was back in the mid-eighties, though.

                March slaughter

I have done well from March 23rd on in Seward. Had two over 100 my first trip in 2003 fishing the high spots south of Pilot rock. The bite is usually slower in March/April. Expect it to pick up by mid May.

                Good luck!!

                  Good advice,

Those can be great spots. So can the spots in the channels (humps) between Fox, Barren, and all the rest if the tide isn't ripping through too bad. I would rather go farther out though......This time of year can be tough though.

                    Spring Break out of Homer
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.
