I will be taking a mix of muli colored eggs (denis rodmans) and muddler minnows. Also some jiggs and bobbers. Going to try 6" pink worms this year also. I have seen other patterns work also, bright colors and dark leeches. Good luck and make sure you post a report for us here!!

Oh Yeah! Lets hope the run was similar to last years. I read that all the steelies were a little late last year, and I think the Jedi can tell you they were. It's going to be fun regardless....no its the two month wait that is going to be a killer....especially with ice fishing being so slow.

You know your not catching any fish when you start talking about the weather...

Hes out of the country, something about a war zone in Iraq....He is not going to be available for a Situk trip this year.

You will be with us in spirit, If I roll a doughnut, I will blame you *****.

Try not to get to upset, stay motivated and be safe so we can fish the Situk again when you return. Your sacrifices are not forgot by this American. Thank You.

Based off of our last two trips, I think you guys have it right with the mid May timing. Last year was a humbling experience on that river. I think you two will catch a bunch....if not just line a dark ole boot too keep from having a goose egg to report. I look forward to seeing photos of some chromed-out metal heads.

Are you guys doing 5 days like we planned since 3 was not enough and 7 days walking the Situk was too much?

On a side note, looks like I'll be there on the 7th or 8th of April. I'll give you a call once I get in. The good thing is, the ole lady can only take a few days off, so fishing time will be at max....i'm sure that you can muster a few days of being "sick" at work.

Will be there at the same time, went the same week in 2005 and had a great time. Lots of steel in the river in the last week of April.
I have only used yarn balls, local guides say they work best.
Check this site for the latest river conditions: http://www.situk.net/river_reports_index.htm

                              See you in Yakutat!!
