  • WAAAH! i lost my pot!!!

went to pull my pot today after my buddy baited it yesterday... had high hopes as he got 12 keepers out of his pot this morning.
anyhow, found the buoy and snagged it no problem, put on my pulling buoy and started to go... line went tight, buoy started to slide then stuck... gave a little more juice and <<<POW!!>>> line parted 300' something feet down... must have been caught on something. RATS!! not sure if i got enough line back to use, i've already started scrounging around for another pot to use... the gear shed gets $130 for a new one....

Potbuilder has a 6th sense about when people bring up the subject on this newsgroup of needing new pots. I'll bet he chimes in soon

found a couple pots to use...

                  kinda borrowed... kinda bought...
my friend says that they won't catch crab in his barn, and if he fished 'em he might lose one, and if i fish them i could lose one, but if i buy bait and fuel and rig them he'll accept the risk... and a few crabs

(hey steve that link didn't work.)

Salmon tendering out of Valdez a few years ago everyone on the crew bought a pot and we dropped our string in front of Shoup glacier right next to a dropoff. We all watched as the pots went down one by one and finally we threw the bouy over and watched with horror as it went down just as fast as the pots. If anyone finds some 3 year old pots near there please mail them and all of the prawns back to me.
