Kenai campgrounds

Hello,
My wife and I plan on spending a week in the Kenai in late July 2007. Our plans are to rent an RV for the week so we can move from place to place and not be locked in with cabin rentals. Don't know exactly where we will be overniting but do know we will be in Hope for a night or two and in Homer for a night or two. I would appreciate recommendations for campgrounds that are RV friendly.

Make reservations. . .

My suggestion is contact area Chambers of Commerce and ask them to send you their material. Look for campground ads, and make reservations. July on the Kenai is very, very crowded. Also, get a copy of the Milepost — http://www.themilepost.com/.

Almost all the campgrounds cater to the RV and you will find them very
user friendly to you.

Hope

When in Hope you can camp with Electric hook-up only in "old downtown" Hope at the Scenic Cafe and Bar RV Park which is right on Resurrection Creek. This is pretty rough camping but it was a highlight of our trip! We were there this past July 25 and again on July 30 and had the time of our lives catching and releasing Pink Salmon and enjoying the character of this "town". Don't miss it!
