  • Question About Eagle Eating Bait Pic

    This photo is from the Guardian newspaper and appears to show an Eagle doing what Eagles do-scooping bait off the surface; what I can't ID is the exact type of bait it looks to be a Saury but here in BC we only see those fish 40+ miles offshore never seen them close like that-is that what it is?

    Someone was probably tossing that bait to the eagles to get the pics.

      Yep. Looks to me like the bait is 2 herring (or sauries) still frozen together, with the tail of one (on the left) sticking out past the nose of the one on the right. I occasionally see pictures with shad or menhaden too, a couple of other frozen baits that get used far north of where they live.
