  • Homer silvers???

    Hello

i have parked the 21ír in Homer this season.

Iíve been fishing Seward for a couple years and am fairly confident in the silver department over there. However I have never fished silvers out of Homer. Only halibut and winter kings with Driftwood charters.

Where do I start looking this time of the year??? Pogi???? Further????

August/September Iíll probably just troll out of the harbor to start.

    Thanks for any advice.

I find them off of bluff point to the anchor river starting in july. Troll a herring or coyote behind a white flasher at 20-25ft. They really school up off of nanwalek around the first of august- about 70 ft down in about 100-140 ft of water. You could mooch them- the schools are big. I've never targeted them off of the spit just because I like to go out away from homer and fish. I will usually pick up kings as an added bonus.

Anyone start hitting them around Homer. appears some guides are doing well near shore some where. Possibly south of pogi? Headed down with my parents next week. Probably try out pogi and if it's nice enough try heading out in front of port graham

Anyone been out near Pogi or Flat Island for silvers? Coming up on the 15th for a few days and would appreciate recent report. Thanks.

There are boats trolling at Pogi but not allot of catching.

Went out to Silver Ridge today and landed 6 silvers, and 3 feeder kings in about 3 hours. Lost a few too. The kings were smaller than the silvers, in the 7-8lbs range. I will PM you with coordinates for Silver Ridge. When you get within 5 miles, you'll see the fleet...
