Ling Cod in UCI, what kind of bottom/depth do they like???

If by UCI you mean upper cook inlet you aren't going to find any lingcod.
there have been a few caught in the last few years around flat island, but generally speaking you need to run at least to Elizabeth island to have a serious crack at targeting them. Look for rocky pinnacles in deep water, or reefs between 80-150'. Just generalizations, but probably decent guidelines.

Make sure your vessel is worthy of a trip that far South. That stretch of water can get wicked in no time flat. Have heard of the treasures though.

I'm glad you said that, as I was wondering if something had changed that I hadn't heard about. For the 30+ years I've been fishing the CI I sure as heck never heard of a place for lings....

The very first Ling cod I ever seen we caught off of twin falls while trolling for kings. Had no idea what it was at the time just knew it was evil looking. It was only about 2' long. That was at least 20 years ago
