Big beautiful fish; it's a shame it wasn't released. I don't buy into the "Well if I didn't keep it, someone else would have!" theory. That's 500lbs of garbage eating halibut. Way better off releasing it as it's a large breeding female. In my opinion of course. I understand that it was commercially caught; but it's still a shame.

Makes you wonder how many times you "rocked down" on a clean bottom and broke off... Anyone see that pic in the gear shed in homer of that one caught in chignik? I wanna say over 900 lbs and caught in 1910, but my memory might be failing me...
