Here's a link to my fishing column at Alaska Dispatch that includes updated info on where fish are coming in right now. Good report of reds in the Resurrection...

Cliffhanger, thanks for your fishing column. As I age, I do more fishing vicariously. Your column is excellent. One can always dream.

Weapon of choice a 8/o weighted trouble hook??? Can you see the fish or are you just casting and realing it back in?

I'm going to go down there around the 15th.

Went down on Thursday and used nothing but a snagging hook. The only person that I saw not using a snagging hook was using a j hook with a weight like you are flossing at the Russian. It looks like some people wearable to spot fish, but for the most part you are just casting/flipping into the channel and snagging them. I noticed that the people at the mouth were doing better then the ones that were farther up and closer to the cut off line.
                          hook, line, sinker, done.

Where down there do you go??? I've only been to Seward 1 time.

Are you sayin' you DON'T flip for them with a fly then??? As done on the Russian???

                            TIA....

get on to nash road and look for the right pull off where there is a big opening. kind of confusing to describe. but just cast your snagging hook across the river and snag until your arms fall off
                              hook, line, sinker, done.
