  • Peninsula Icefishers gettogether?

Just wondering if there was interest from the Peninsula ice fishers to hold a get together on a local lake this winter?
I would help set this up and have extra gear if needed.
Would also like to know what everybodys ideas are for a lake to host this at?
What time frame? Of course we would need more ice than we have now.
This would be a non-alcoholic event where kids are welcome.
I would probably bring a coleman campstove and have a hot meal and drinks on the ice for all.
    Food suggestions?
Anyone wanting to check out my Aquaview underwater camera or Vexilar fl20 flasher I would bring these as well for forum members to try.
I have a few power augers so I can drill all the holes.
Those new to the sport or just wanting to check it out are welcome to attend and I do have loaner rods I could bring.
Lets hear it what do you guys think:question:
Anyone outside the peninsula would be welcome to attend as well but you gotta arrange things yourself to get here.

As long as it occurs during my off week, I'll be there. Ice conditions depending, how about targeting the weekend before Christmas (Dec 18 or 19). Should have really good ice by then.

I'd put Island Lake near the top of the suggestion list. But there are many locations that would work just fine.

I would be very interested. My time is normally open, so what ever works for others. I will be outside until 12-5, don't think anything could happen before then anyway. I have not ice fished for years, and if nothing else would like to meet anyone from the forum. Thanks Dan

Sounds good to me maybe we can get a few others to join us.
If not I have a 3 man shanty with a padded bench seat and backrest. Should accommodate 3 of us just fine.
Bring the big buddy heater and it makes for a good day on the ice.
But hopefully we can gather some more interest in this gathering.
Island lake would work for me. It is also good for those without snowmachines due to the short hike from the ramp area.

Sounds like a great idea. My family and I would be interested. It really wouldn't matter to us which lake it's at. I will stay tuned as to when.

              Yeah definetly bring the kids.
December 18,19,or 20 sounds good like Joat said we should have good ice by then.
The kids will also be on christmas break.
Island lake also sounds good with the good access it has for those without snowmachines.
Any other suggestions for a lake with good winter access?
I was thinking I might just pick up some pre packaged burgers and what not. I can cook them on my coleman campstove and griddle. Sound ok? That is what I usually do.
              Any other suggestions?
Anyone else interested please speak up!

Sounds good to me. I will be back from outside by then. I will help out with any grub or what ever, that is bought. Dan

So for now the plan is to meet at Island Lake in Nikiski anytime after 9:00am on December 20th.
I plan to show up early to get some holes drilled and what not.
bring your own gear and a chair of some sort to sit on.
Kids and wives are definetly welcome.
Anyone needing a loaner rod send me a pm so that I can make sure I bring enough extra gear.

                      I'm in

Myself and the two kids (8&10) would like to attend if it's still a go. I'll monitor the discussion. Fingers crossed for ice.

Sorry you are right I should have said the 18th. That is the Saturday in December we were talking about.
I accidently looked at November on the calender.:shot:

Getting closer. Hope everyone is as excited as I am to catch some fish.
Currently stuck on the slope so I can't wait to get home and catch some big ones.
