  • Gear recommendations for Lake Louise

I was wondering what weight line I should use for Lake trout and burbot in Lake Louise?
Is fresh salad shrimp a good bait to use right now?
I'm planning to go do a day trip on 1/19.
What jigs would you recommend for that lake?
I'm going to take a full 20# tank as I saw the forecasted temperature.

go to the point lodge they have the proper jigs there for sale, I would take some of that frozen bait fish like they have at Fred Myers.and don't forget single hooks only up there

I don't recommend salad shrimp for any Alaskan fishing bait. It doesn't stay on the hooks well and really doesn't have enough scent.
I do use raw shrimp for trout and landlocked salmon though.
For lake trout jigs on lake louise you want to try big white tube jigs, bucktails, and similar type jigs.
I make my own tackle so can't help with where to buy them other than local tackle shops should have some that work.

White Kodiak Customs tube jigs (3.5''-6'') with a bit of white fish will work well up there.
