  • Pike hooks?

    Anybody have experience with these?

    Yup, we used them in Michigan with dead smelt for bait. Thread the bait on from the vent going forward till the hook point protrudes from the top of the baitfish's head.

      I have as well.They work OK.
      I don't use them anymore. Now I exclusively use my quickstrike rigs and/or jigs.

            I tried them years ago and found that you really had to wait for the northern to turn the bait before setting the hook. I use regular hooks now. Less waiting. When they run, set it. I have been playing around with smaller circle hooks and having the same success as regular hooks.
