  • What lures?

I am going on a drop hunt in unit 18 out of bethel. We will be flying into a lake. What kind of fish are going to be present in most of the lakes in southwest Alaska? What should I bring for lures. Weight will be limited so I Appreciate the advice as I can't bring the whole tackle box.

I have never fished close to Bethel. A ways NE of there we got into the pike. Big silver or green spoons or flesh flies, the gaudier the better.

SW quite a ways we got into grayling, silvers and bows. Silver and brass Mepps, small & medium (#1 & #4) did pretty good.

Spin gear fishing for grayling, small spinners as previously mentioned can work well. I'd recommend black rooster tails. Don't overlook small white/tan tube jigs.
