Hey guys I just spent some time down in BC to break the cabin fever of a long Yukon winter. Good to get a few days in on the spey rod as I am getting a bit rusty with this long norther winter.
Steelheading was fairly good with a few nice chromers to hand, the highlight was teaching my little bro to spey cast. On his fourth messy attempt at the double he does this:

Great fish for a first, put on one hell of a show. He is either very lucky or has a good teacher, anyone who has seen me cast lately with probably suggest the former
.
I know it is not alaska fishing but I am, sure we can all use s bit of help while we wait for fishing to get in to full swing.
For me the local river is thawed in parts and it should be good to fish in a couple weeks. Also looking forward to getting down to Skagway for the weekend and maybe finding some dollies.
Tight loops,
Pat
