...trout are striking your strike indicator. Just curious what some of you would when this happens. Happened to me several times last summer.

I've seen fly shops carrying indicator fly combos. I've seen them in numerous shapes and sizes, some I think were called Hoppercator or something like that. I've even seen some that have a thing-a-ma-bobber attached to a fly. I can't blame you for wondering, nothing is more frustrating than not catching fish and having one rise to your dang indicator!
I guess for me it's happened rare enough that I don't use any of the ideas I've seen.

Use a big dry fly as your indicator, like a stimulator, mouse, etc. and drop your nymph/bead/flesh or whatever under it. This is a very standard method of fishing in many other places, and it works. Of course, you can only do this where the use of multiple flies/hooks is legal.

Like another said when that happens it's worth another drift or two for sure.
I've had grayling do that too. Once in western Alaska, while targeting big trout, big grayling would grab the indicator and pull it under for several seconds. I eventually figured out that after dropping the indicator the grayling would then grab the bead on the same drift.
