  • Monster Steelhead

Don't know if any of you guys have seen this fish, but it's a hawg. Apparently the cat who caught it guides up here ~ I'd say he's living the rough life.

Anybody been doing any 'bow fishing of late? I plan to hike into the Kenai this week and give it a go.

Yet another story to this fish I see. LoL!! I've seen this pic circulate for a while now, seems like each time it has a different story attached to it.

One story was that this was a dead fish, spawned out and found, and the guy in the picture is a department of wildlife person who was collecting dead carcasses.

Along those same lines, another story said he was a DOW person who netted the fish during spawning operations.

I think I've read two or three other stories that he caught it, all varying stories though.

        LoL.

          Nick caught it.

I have seen both the pics of the fight, as well as the release.

Anybody been out on the Kenai of late?

Here's another link to get the rest of you trout bums anxious...

            http://www.simmsfishing.com/site/nicholas_e.html

In the black portion on the left hand side of the page there are two links for thumbnails. I spent about a half hour looking at each picture and was green with envy. Mr. English caught a toad on the Kenai as well. Wouldn't mind doing some fishing with that guy.

And another Kenai slab from that link...

Phil the story of the spawned out fish found by fish and game was actually an 80+lb king from a river in California. Nick's fish was very much alive and released.

Well...cool! No doubt that's one monster of a fish

I bet the fight was epic, just the adrenaline alone when he got a look at it for the first time!

Yeah, pretty easy to see that steelie is very much alive and hasn't laying around on a gravel bar bleaching out. Nice fish. The K is famous for monsters like that. Very jealous, nice Kenai 'bow too....guy is on a roll!
