What's the story with Cheney Lake?

To me it seems like one of the locals hates all the fisherman. I've been there recently and the lake is filled with weeds. It's almost unfishable. You can only use a bait bait and bobber setup because you'll snag weeds on a retrieve. I just wish whoever is putting pike in there would stop. I can only assume the weeds are from the pike decimating all the other fish populations.

You ought to give ADF&G in Anchorage a call and get the scoop first hand...and then report you findings here...I'd be interested in knowing, too.

I heard awhile back they poisoned the lake to kill all the pike. This was a couple years back, I could be wrong
