Back on, easy enough for 2 people to lift it in place.
Cutting down the 2x4's made more room. Milk crate fits under it now.
    Hope it still strong enough

Wife used to stand there on the old boat for hours fishing at the Deshka.
This one is big enough for a chair

I'm liking having the dry storage too.

Got it down to 84 lbs.

When I went shopping for marine plywood, the prices scared me.
So I used what I had.
But your point is well taken, if it works I can change over to lighter plywood,Was thinking 5/8" but maybe 1/2 will work.
& use a hole saw to lighten the 2x4s.

Just exterior latex for now, sand mixed in.

I have to take it off to paint the underside, so I'll do some weight reduction cutting ,
Seems every piece had to be cut to size then customized to fit fairly snug & square.

    Thanks.

Looks like good work. Did you fiberglass it?
My thoughts exactly! Sure looks sharp though! Nice work!!

started a topic Sea Ark, Covered Bow build

    Sea Ark, Covered Bow build

Bow cover & a base for a windshield.
Removable I ever need to load something over the bow.
Framed in the bow & covered with 3/4" ply wood.
Painted, sprinkled on some sand & will add 2 more thin coats of paint over the sand.

16-3/4 " from the boat bow deck to the top of the plywood & tapered the frame even with the top of bow
Gave me lots of dry storage space.

Will be working on the windshield next.
