  • Sup surfing booties

I have been using an old set of 6 mm dive booties on my sup. They keep my feet warm enough if I throw some neoprene socks with them but they don't exactly grip as well as I think they could. Just wondering what other folks use and if anyone out there has booties they are super stoked about.

You might want to try some booties that are made for surfing, I think you'll find you get much better traction. I'm currently stoked about my 7mm Xcel Infiniti Drylocks. Superwarm and comfortable and not tooo bad to get on and off. I've also heard good things about Hyperflex Amps and Patagonia r4s (5 mm but supposedly as warm as 7s). It helps if you can try them on and take them off -- on a cold, wet, and windy stretch of beach ...

I'll second the 7mm Xcel booties, especially for winter. I used to go thinner in the shoulder seasons but now I use them year-round. The Drylocks seem to hold up ok.

I just found out we have a surfing forum, awesome! I have O'neill 6/5/4 Pyscho booties and like them, good feel for booties that thick.
