  • Seward Weather

I've heard the weather in Seward has been pretty bad the last few weeks. Does anyone know if there is speculative changes on the way?

Weather has sucked outside the bay. The forecast changes every day and it has become impossible to make long term plans. Check the Marine weather for Gore Point to Suckling Point. Next few days are only looking for 5-6 foot seas which is doable for a smaller boat.

      Seward Marine Weather

I just checked and it said 2' seas for Resurection Bay through Mon. You really should check it as often as possible. It can change fast. Check the out lying areas near where you want to go also.

The Marine forcast for outside Resurrection Bay has changed to a Small Craft Advisory with 25 kt winds and 9 foot seas though Thursday night letting up to 15 kt winds and 5 foot seas Friday until Monday night. You can check it at http://www.arh.noaa.gov/wmofcst.php?...FC&type=marine PWS looks good though.

          Seward Waters

Headed for Pony Cove last Sunday, got past Calista Head, water turned
to crap. Lots of boats continued on out, but I do not like to beat my
self to death in 5-6 ft seas. Not much fun in my opinion....

            Heading Out Satuday

I'm planning to launch on Satuday Morning. Figured I'd fish Calisto Head and play it by eye. Anyone else headed out on Satuday?

We are headed down Saturday morning and plan to spend the night for two days of fishing. Hope the waters stay as forecast and the sun is out for a change. Hope we can fill up on Silvers early and head out for some rockfish and halibut.

Went out on a charter yesterday, and they ran all the way out to Montague on the Gulf side. Mostly 6' swells with occasional 12's.

Fishing was a bit slow, but we couldn't have asked for nicer weather. The crew said they'd had 1 1/2 weeks of rain and snot prior to yesterday. If the weather holds, it should be one of the nicest weekends all summer.

                  Fri/Sat (28-29th)

Friday was pretty rough heading out around 7pm. Calmed down slightly around Fox island. Spent the night in Sunny bay then headed to Pony cove on Sat. Water was great on Sat and we even got some sunshine! 3 guys fishing and we brought back 8 silvers, 6 black bass, 1 yelloweye, and 1 ling. Silvers were slow so we went out and tried for halibut and rocks for a while. Packed it up and headed home around 5pm. Great day to be on the water.
