I normally use a stainless impeller but switched to an aluminum one after the river season to run in the salt lagoons, normally no scarping bottom. Well I ran up the river and scraped a little and sucked up some of the bottom, I decided to check the impeller and had to get creative on removing it! A come along, a rope tied to the impeller, sledge hammer and a truck bumper is what it took to get the dang thing off. Just a FYI.
