  • Has anyone launched out of talkeetna yet?

Just checking to see if the launch is open...if not I'll have to put in off the bridge.

    Thanks!

              Boater...**** spell check .
It is a lot smoother ride than my 15ft Alaskan was over the chop and it jumps up on step in no time at all. The reverse is insane, kinda bummed that the reverse bucket didn't come with my new XLSJ but will definitely be picking one up here pretty soon. I didn't really run anything skinny but just having all of that room was great. Overall I'm 100% satisfied and would buy it again in a second !

What type of performance do you get going up faster water? I was running between 29 - 32mph depending on the water @ an average RPM between 5000 - 5100. On a lake I'm right at about 35 - 36mph @ the same 5000 - 5100rpm, is that pretty normal?

              Thanks!

uggh, not sure...5000 rpm?, sounds like you has a couple more inches of throttle left there ...I don't spend a lot of time just cruising at a set rpm, ....I'm heading out in the morning, I'll take a moment to slow down to 5000rpm and note the speed for you

seriously though, your numbers sound right...looks like you were at the mouth of Sheep in the pics, did you guys go up past there?

I was just keeping the RPM a little lower for the first 10 hours for the break in, I've got about 5 hours on it so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what GPH/MPH I got out running today.

We didn't hit up Sheep creek, we were just fishing streams up and down on the Big Su. The fishing was great, sun was out...heck of a day to hit the river for the first time !
