I have a 19 footer and I ran a 15 horse Johnson on it. A 20 with a jet would be too much weight back there unless you rigged up some outriggers on it. Many years ago I saw one at a filling station here in Fairbanks that someone had taken a Rotax snowmobile engine and mounted it in the middle of his canoe and ran a drive shaft to a jet of some kind. If someone was handy I see no reason you couldn't use a jet from a personal water craft on a Gruman with some alterations. That would be a cool boat to go into some backwaters with for sure.

I wonder if you could put an outboard jet on a canoe, like a 19 ft. grumman sq. stern? Or those 17 foot grummans with the large sq. stern? I've seen little 20 horse jet outboards.
