Default Last Montana Splash

A few pics of some Montana Laker's we took today. These were caught in the Flathead Lake. The big one is 37/19 pounds, and momma caught a 28/12 pounder on an ultralight rig.

This is most likely my last Montana fish....I go back overseas in a week, and I'll be moving up to the valley this July. Hope to meet some of the folks who I've been reading and learning from over the past year.

Tight lines!

I want to make it clear that I don't normally keep big females like this. I usually let all 100# fish go. Just cut the leader off. This was the first barn door fish the kid had seen and he really wanted to keep it. We've let several go the past two summers approaching 150#. The tide book pegged this one at 207# +/-

Default Early Halibut

We went out of Deep Creek this last weekend, 5-2-09, and was able to pull in a few Halibut. Nothing special but the weather. Could not have asked for any better

Nice picture Alaskakid. So you fish along with rabbit hunting? Save those rabbit hides and tie some flies.
