Hopefully Joe Want will weigh in on this, but you can find boars wandering around year round. I would guess in two weeks a person could still see a bear or two.

I have been deer hunting several times mid november sometimes they are out sometimes denned up, I think it depends on temps and food availability. A electric fence is a good idea around your tent and hunt in pairs. Have a good hunt .

PM me if I can be of any help. Have spent quite a bit of time on the south end. Make certain you have backup gear for snow. Not always snow and cold but best to have the gear. Makes for great hunting if it does snow. Good luck Joe (Ak) |

There are lots of Bears on Kodiak that don't hibernate at all. Usually they are big Boars. They just walk the beaches year-round... I've deer hunted in late November in Uganik Bay (North end) and seen lots of bears. Plan on seeing bears.

The wife and I just got back from the south end. We saw a few bears and lots of sign. Temps still mostly above freezing. We took this photo Monday.

When Chuck Norris tells them too... Rumor has it ol Chuck goes to Kodiak at his discretions climbs the highest mountain and commands the bears to hibernate. Again this is what I heard... Maybe the folks on Kodiak can verify this... |
