Default Whoose Going to the Klutina??

I am continuing my own traditon of sockeye fishing by avoiding the Russian River and fishing the Klutina instead. The Copper Valley is going to be my choice agian this year for my sockeye harvest. I am sure the Russian River Memories are great for those that go, for me its the memories made at Klutina.

    I'm in!
I've been looking at it for the past few days but not sure where to go! It looks like Kings open July 1st? I could do a red run anytime. I'll be fishing the 9th-16th somewhere.

We're heading up on Friday or Monday for a day trip... unless I can sweet talk the boss into going for the weekend.

Miles Lake sonar counts look great...

Klutina river charters say it is starting to pick up...

Never fished there before. I am a Kenai guy, however I have family in Valdez. Any advice on where to fish or stay? I have a camper so anywhere that would be close to a fishing hole would be great advice. Not asking for any secrets, pm me if you like. Not going to make it down there this weekend heading down to you know where but later in the month I would love to try. Thanks in advance!

Lots of rocks not for the faint at heart.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-----WOW-----what a ride!

http://www.trophy-clips.com/view_vid...0f97aa554886ec this is a video from a couple years ago...lots of bank open to fish for the sockeye. Without drawing a map with where X marks the spot...you can catch fish pretty much anywhere along the banks. Princess even has a Hotel/lodge there along Klutina for fancy folks.

How about everyone who is going to the Klutina picks up some garbage and line that seems to be everywhere. Couldn't believe it I was down tonight and already filled a small plastic bag with mono, fly line, and a few hooks/yarn. O yeah there are fish there but plan to work at it. 1.5 hours flogging and 2 fish hooked up. I'm sure some of you will fare better, good luck.

Thanks for your report..I have a another strong report of fish limit tonight (3 fish each) for 2 people in about 1 hour. I know where I am going to be in 24...maybe see you? Did you fish near the campgrounds?
