Default Anyone shooting 450 Marlin in Encore pistol?

I'm in the process of getting a 15" factory barrel with the muzzle tamer.
My intention is to use this for brown bear (yes with a backup with a rifle on intentional hunts), moose, & whatever else stumbles in the way.
Anyone have any practical experience with this gun/cartridge combo?
    Recomended bullets?
I'm a big fan of heavy hardcast bullets myself.

    Thanks

This from the man with the 416 Taylor handgun :-)
The guy that's getting rid of his 450 Marlin handgun barrel because he's moved on to "bigger & better" things?

    Wink

Vance, I don"t shoot a 450 marlin but do shoot a 45- 70 with handloads, 350 hornadys , and it"s as heavy as I care to go handgun wise! Its a contender super 16 with a factory brake SYN SS not as heavy as my encore. There is a big diffrence in good stout handloads, and trapdoor power loads! Have fun and hold on tight!! LOL Bill. PS its scoped with a 2x leupold eer, and one piece TC duo rings, and holding up fine so far!

I also have never used the 450 Marlin but have put hundreds of 45-70 rounds through a T/C Contender. H322 was powder of choice with the 405 grain Bear Tooth Bullets LFNGC. 48 grains was running that bullet from the 14" barrel at 1620 FPS.

I have several extra boxes if those bullets if you'd like to try them. Also have several boxes of the 400 grain LFNBB
