Oh my my, do tell how a "fly" fisherman stoops to the level where salmon snagers reside.Well, pinch the barb on that "Alaska Dry Fly", might catch an accidental spawner!
Too early yet, 1 seiner in the bay, probably practice sets. 2nd week June makes it worth the trip.

I was out there on Memorial Day and saw a good amount of fish being caught off of McDonalds Beach...I was told that the morning they were strong, but we showed up around 11am and it was tapering off...

    Default Any report?

I have tomorrow off work and looking for a little fresh sockeye. Has anyone heard if any fish are coming through? Wondering if it is worth the drive from Anchorage for a tide?

    Thanks

They were still around on Friday, anyway. It has gotten slower, though, and could well be between runs now. Never know unless you try.

Made another trip down there Sunday and fished the later tide from about 4pm - 830pm. Our group of 3 people caught 7 fish between us, all good sized. The fish were coming in waves as usual and the commercial boats were out there all evening. There were a lot more people hooking up with fish this trip then when I was out there on Memorial Day. Not sure about the commercial boats and when they will be out there, but you can still get fish regardless of if they are out or not from what I have experienced.
