Denali Hwy over Memorial Day Weekend
We are planning on loading up the MH and dragging along the airboat and doing the Denali Hwy over Memorial Day weekend. Never did it with a airboat, any ideas on what is doable this early. I expect some ice, but also some open water, want to catch a few grayling, maybe a laker or two and look for bear and just kick back. I'm hoping to spend some time exploring the Nanana, Mclaren, Susitna and Tangle Lakes. What ever looks good to us at the time and that I get some good reports on. Hoping to get some ideas of what may be open, and where good places to camp are. I do not like the public area at Tangle Lakes, hope it is all not like that. Any ideas would be welcome. Bud
I called the Tangle River Inn for an ice report. The ice is about 5ft from shore as of 5/23.
