Still in the 20's in Kuparuk so I would guess they are still frozen up.
I have not driven by the river but would guess it is still iced over.
A friend of mine drove over from prudhoe yesterday and will probably see him again tomorrow so I will be sure and ask.

Still frozen here in prudhoe. It's been thawing fast the past week. Temps 20-35. The sun is feeling very warm. Seen some rotten ice on some river pics, not sure which one. Looked like sag.

Had a chopper come into the Alpine Airport last night from Galbraith Lake. No open water anywheres yet.

The ocean is solid as a rock out here at Endicott/Liberty.
Plenty of snowy owls cruising around though.

Just had that chopper fly up the colville river to the base of the Brooks Range. No open leads yet.

No open water along my travels between Deadhorse and West Dock. Sag was locked up tight as of Sunday, haven't been across since then. Grass is starting to show through in a lot of places, and plenty of waterfowl showing up. Short term forecast calls for highs in the upper 30's.

In the 20 years I was up there, there wasn't anything fishable until mid-June.

Most of the char don't show up till late July through August anyway.

Sag just broke a few days ago. It is raging! There won't be any fishing for at least a month. Kuparuk is still locked up.

We were told to expect the Kuparuk to go tonight or tomorrow, there is some water flow happening and with the warm weather it won't be long.

I had to fly over the Kuparuk today due to the road being washed out. Here's a picture of the Kuparuk river breakup
