    Default Big Lake opportunities

I have a new 19' bayboat and was thinking about taking it out to a lake where I could open up the motor a bit. Is big lake appropriate? What fishing opportunities and riggs would work there?

    Totally new to boating,

Big Lake will be more than appropriate,,,,, in another few days - unless you wanna pretend you got an icebreaker. Edges are opening up, but still covered by rotten ice.

Lots of dollies, pike & I'm sure a rainbow or two. I know some who troll cowbells w/nightcrawlers for dollies & do quite well.

If Big Lake still has ice, try Wasilla or Lucile, both ice free, lots of room, and same fishing techniques will work fine. Bud

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-----WOW-----what a ride!

Its Illegal to use bait on big lake form november-april, just remember that! I to, have used night crawlers to success till a trooper informed me that I caught that 25 inch char illegally (on ice), dang that sucked. With a bobber you can't go wrong with them, expecially if you tip the hook with an egg or 2.
