Thread: Magic Steel

  1. #1

    Default Magic Steel

Hit up the Kasilof with some other forum members, we were throwing everything in our boxes at these fish with no luck. As I gazed at my fly patch on my pack a bunch of tiny true flies were landing on my flies...so I thought to myself lets throw on a midge type fly. I only had one on the patch(who brings their midge box steelheading??), it was a size 22 Griffith's Gnat. Well lets just say, I got numerous 30"+ steelies to rise to that fly landing 2 fish, one taped over 36"! I usually always fish dries, since everything else is beneath me, it paid off this time!

Cool! Add some #16 Beadhead Hares Ear and #16 Beadhead Pheasant Tails, and you'll really be set for the next session of lockjaw.

Dude that was a pretty epic day! How about that gnarly one Jen had take that size 20 BWO? It's between that one and Justin's steelie on size 22 mosquito for best fish of the day.

    This is Awesome!

And it wasn't meant to offend. Merely inject some humor. I'll remove it.. .. if it REALLY bothers you.
