I just got my downrigger reels back from the repairman and its time to fill them back up with monofilament. Any suggestions on brands that resist abrasion better than others? To date I've been using 30-pound test UltraGreen, and am noticing that even with new Scotty releases the lines get nicked and chewed-up very quickly in the area we clamp the release on. I keep close track of their condition and cut the wear point out and re-tie so I don't lose the gear I'm towing, but I'd like to get more time out of the line.

With the amount of charter guys posting on here - does anyone notice a tougher brand than the others? How does Izorline hold up? Any ideas?
