    Default Too small shaft paddle?

I have an opportunity to buy a expensive paddle for half price, only it is a small shaft. I don't have particularly big hands, but should have a regular shaft. Can I put some tape on it to make the grip bigger; or is it just something I should pass on?
    Thanks.

    Toller,

According to the fit guide on Werner Paddle's website:

    Standard Diameter Shaft
If your hand is larger than 7 inches from the base of palm to fingertip, you should use our Standard Diameter shaft.

    Small Diameter Shaft
If your hand is smaller than 6.5 inches from the base of palm to fingertip, you should use our Small Diameter shaft.

My hands are about 7.25 inches and I prefer paddling with the standard diameter shaft made by Werner.
