Default How to get 12v power from my Yamaha Outboard?

I have an older 30hp Yamaha Jet on my 14' Lowe. I am planning on installing a battery and using two Lightforce driving lights for those late season runs. How would I get 12v power from my motor to keep the battery charged? Thanks in advance.

Go see the Yamaha dealer and ask him if the motor can be converted to charge your battery and what the parts would cost.

be sure to have the dealer check to see if the charging system for that motor has enough output to keep up with the lights you want to use. Some outboards don't have much oputput.

I may be wrong but a 30hp Yamaha charging circuit is 6 amps output.
