Default What height rings for 45-70 scout scope?

I am mounting a Leupold IER "scout" scope on a 45-70. I'm thinking of using the Leupold quick-release rings. The question is: medium or low mounts? I'm thinking low is probably best to maintain a good cheek weld and stay low and close to the barrel. I know there's more than a few of these setups out there so I figured I'd ask and see what other's experiences have been!

    Thanks.

Be a bit "gentle" with the QR rings as I have twisted 2 handles off now - they work good but are not to be over tightened...
When asked what state I live in I say "The State of Confusion", better known as IL....

Low. But keep in m ind the Leupold rings are heavy and affect the balance of the system more than the aluminum rings
