Default Interarms Mark X safety engages during recoil

The safety on my Interarms Mark X .375 H&H pops back into "safe" during recoil. The loads are no where near maximum.(happens 9 out of 10 times) Is this an easy fix? New spring maybe? Or some other modification? Kind of a pain, definitely do not want this to happen in the field!

I would take to a gunsmith to fix. If you have the adjustable trigger, the safety is attached to the trigger group. I think there is a ball detent.

Stock might need releived a bit as well.

Sounds like a safe gun to give to a blonde....lol
Sorry, that just popped into my head and haven't even finished my first cup of coffee.
It does sound like maybe a gunsmith tweak.
I can do the impossible right away. Be patient, miracles take me a bit longer.

If nothing is broken and it is merely out of adjustment, it is a very simple fix to correct. You can adjust tension on the safety lever throw from being so tight that you'd need a hammer to so loose that it would flop back and forth. A very easy trigger to work on, but if you are lost, send it to someone experienced.

I took it into Wild West Guns and the adjustment screws were bottomed out and it was still loose. I opted for a new trigger. Good group of guys there at WWG's. They got another loyal customer in me

When they had it out of the stock did you happen to notice a secondary recoil block installed on the underside of the barrel? I have a Whitworth that has the same trigger as yours and it has this modification to the underside of the barrel just in front of the receiver and the stock has been bedded to conform to a metal block that has been secured to the barrel in the location I described. I have looked for years on the net to find someone that can tell me what is going on with it and have not found anyone. I would like to take mine to WWG and have them look at it but, I seldom get to Anchor Town.

The Whitworths ahd the secondary recoil lug on the barrel isntalled a the factory on the 375's I have seen. The Mark X 375 did not.

Timney makes a drop in trigger to fit thes rifles. Brownells/Midway sells those and even I can put one in OK.

    Thanks!
