    Default More randomness

Found these pics on a drive I haven't used in awhile, thought I'd share...

Generic marabou spey...worked awesome for coho, if I remember right.

The "root tie" of another one of my patterns, the SmoltySnack.

    October caddis variant, skater.

i really like that maribou spey, simple yet deadly.

Like that "generic marabou spey" fly. I recall a day when the cohos preferred chartreuse over pink.
Outstanding photos too, G_Smolt. You do those flies proud.
    Thanks for posting these.

The skater looks similar to a fly they used in Skagit masters 2. I'm going to head over to lea land fly shop in a week to pick up a few. Great looking flys. Hopefully more to come.

Scott Howell's "ska-opper" IS a skater, and has played a part in the recent development of "movement-added" skaters, but the underside of this fly looks NOTHING like that fly. Foam skater profiles are all a tad similar...wide bill, narrow waist, spray out the back.

This one has an orange foam body, no more deerhair than absolutely necessary for winging profile, and october caddis dubbing for the threadline. I haven't settled on a name yet, but it will be available in a flyshop near you in early 2012.

    bottom view.
