    Default Dg478

I'm new to hunting on Kodiak and drew this tag along with a buddy of mine. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Is it worth it to bring a 4-wheeler to run Saltry Cove rd? Or should I just ferry the truck over and spot from the road? Are there specific areas I should focus on first, or just work my way down the road system? I'm fully prepared to pack a spike camp up in the mtns, along with proper gear, equiptment, etc. I also understand the weather issues that are common on Kodiak. If it's not appropriate to discuss specific locations on this site, I understand. Thanks.

The wheeler would help you get back the Miam trail which has been a successful place for goat hunters. Two friends harvested Billies there last year (on separate trips).

I hunted this tag a couple years ago and found it extremely hard and not worth the trouble. If I were you guys I would stay home and relax. (LOL) My 17 year old daughter drew this tag as well. good luck to all. Thanks for the tips brwnbr.

Lots of area to hunt so don't worry about everyone else with a tag. There are at least three or four different herds to choose from.
