Default Is there a way to flush my cooling system with fresh water on a jet without running?

I have a chevy 350 can I hook a hose up to the sand trap and run fresh water through it and RELIABLY rinse the system? I would like to leave my boat in Seward but i would like to flush the system after each use without hauling it to a lake to run it. And how long should I run the water after it starts out the exhaust? I know not to run the motor as it will damage the jet which is a 733 Hamilton. Any other options out there? I might also mention I head to the car wash and high pressure the entire boat down including the inside of the jet.

Yes, hooking the hose to it as you mentioned will work to flush it. I think 10-15min. would be sufficient at the rate of a garden hose.

I would also recommend using SaltAway and the attachment that comes with it. Fits inline on the garden hose.

Where would I find this salt away? West marine?
