Finished fly. i opted to use as lil glue as possible being if to much the fly is stiff, here by just adding glue to just the hooks it allows it to be completely articulated.enjoy!

ADD GLUE ALONG SHANK TO THE BEAD, finish fly by wrapping rabbit to bead hold rabbit in place by pulling down, now cut the rabbit strip so it sits flush with self and with bead add a lil more glue if needed to secure fur or use thread and then glue.

    Nice tie.

A suggestion for you: Instead of superglue, which is water soluble and leaves a fly with about as much action as a brick, try TearMender instead. Available at flyshops and fabric stores.

Nice fly 900. Thanks for the info. Would you mind putting a dime next to the finished fly and posting a pic like that just for size referance?

I just re-read the post and looked closely at the pics, and realized that when I saw the glue I jumped to an unwarranted conclusion.

    My Bad.

At any rate, the TearMender allows you to glue down the bunny, preventing bagging and twisting, and it also extends the life of your fly tenfold.

    Once again, nice tie.

Catching fish in a toilet isn't that hard, but they always seem to be brown trout.

I agree. All of my MOAL leeches/ flesh are tied with teremender!! Works great! I even use it on flies that arn't tied MOAL style. Like G Smolt said it increases the life of your fly big time. So anytime I am wrapping rabbit, I usually use teremender.

I also use tearmender. It works great for rabbit hair and doesn't stick immediately to your fingers like super glue. try using tearmender on your dolly Lammas also.

Good looking MOAL though. Those things are killers for sure but they weigh about 10lbs after they get wet.

I just finished a batch of MOALs to replenish the box in some of my favorite colors. For anyone looking for a good tutorial, www.oregonflyfishingblog.com has a very good movie that you can watch. Here's a quick snap of some that I just finished (used tearmender as well).

So I am new to fly tying so forgive me for being clueless...but...did you wrap the fur all the way from the trailing hook all the way up the braided line to the bead on the front hook shank?

yup just be sure that the line in between the hooks is tight otherwise be a pain trying to wrap the fur.
